How long is the programme?

This programme is 17 weeks long which includes a mid semester study break period. The classes run from Monday to Friday (there are no classes on public holidays) from 0830 – 1515. Currently there is no part time or correspondence courses available.

Where will the course be held?

The course is held at the Air New Zealand Aviation Institute located at 7-13 Rennie Drive, Airport Oaks, Auckland.

Are places limited?

Our courses are limited to 20 students. This ensures individual attention can be given to students.

Are there any overseas trips included in the course curriculum?

No. All educational trips are within New Zealand.

How much study is expected outside class?

Apart from the classes, students are expected to dedicate 1-2 hours of extra study per day to assure they are up to date with assignments and assessment preparation. For those who may have families and part time employment may need to prioritise accordingly to their daily schedules.

Is the training centre in public transport range?

Yes. The training facilities are located on bus routes. Visit www.maxx.co.nz to find out how you may use public transport to attend classes.

Is there parking available?

Once all fees have been paid, students are issued secured parking cards. If a student does not wish to pay for the secured parking, off-street parking is also available.

HOW MUch are the course fees?

The Course Fees for the Certificate in Airline Customer Service are outlined in the table below.

What is included in the fees?

The course fees include GST and all course related costs including educational trips. National Certificates (Tourism and Aviation Core Skills Level 3) issued by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority are an additional $15.00 each, and can be applied for once all required Unit Standards have been achieved.

Can I apply for student loan and allowances?

Yes. The course is NZQA and TEC approved and students will be able to access student loans and allowances if they wish. Visit www.studylink.govt.nz for more information and application process.

What is the pass mark?

To be considered for a position in the course, you must meet the interview and activity criteria and score at least 80% in the written assessment.

Does the programme include a first aid course?

First aid course is not included in the programme but is offered at a small cost at the end of your 17 weeks if you wish to gain it.

Will this course better the chances of students for employment?

There is no guarantee of gaining employment with Air New Zealand or other industry employers at the completion of the course.

Students are however prepared for employment at the highest of standards and we envisage employment within 3 months. Throughout the course, students are introduced to key industry employers during their training and will gain great depth of knowledge and professional development.
